Family ServicesAgainst the backdrop of accelerating pressures of everyday life, Catholic Human Services offers an outpatient counseling to help people sort through an assortment of confusing circumstances. It takes an impressive cadre of licensed professional counselors and social workers to tackle the problems presented by the families of Northern Lower Michigan. We believe our staff is both qualified and responsive; they are ready to serve. Services are tailored to the challenge at hand. Most help takes the form of individual treatment, but there are when group treatment is the approach of choice.
Services are provided throughout the twenty-one counties of Northern Lower Michigan. Major offices are located in Alpena, Cadillac, Gaylord, and Traverse City with satellite offices scattered through outlying counties. Appointments can be arranged by contacting any of the major centers.
Fees are based on a person’s income. The Family Service Program is partially subsidized with funds from the United Way and the Catholic Services Appeal. Depending on the condition being treated and the provisions of particular policies, insurance coverage is sometimes possible. The Family Services Program of Catholic Human Services Inc. has been accredited by the Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission (CARF), an international accrediting agency based in Tucson, Arizona.
